Welcome to Our Studio

As I've been visiting California over the last year deciding if it will be my new home, I have been lucky enough to meet some stunning, stunning people. Two of them are featured here. They live in Pasadena. They have a studio. It's amazing. The light alone is worth the cost of California rent. They are expecting their first baby this Spring. I can't wait. I'm hoping I get to baby sit for them.

Scottish Publications

 I was approached by a little Scottish publication the other day who wants to publish our Scottish Inspiration shoot in their magazine. I love the UK so much I might need to move there for the summer.

Flicker Family

I love this family. Can't express how much I love this family. From the way rock the colors to the love that is so obvious in the photos. It was an amazing afternoon photographing them and I hope they let me do it again sometime soon.

Miller Family

I was lucky enough to photograph this family two years in a row. It just keeps getting better and better. We went out to Park City and they each brought their own pop of color!

Little Audrey

This is Audrey. 

She's the sweetest, spunkiest daughter of my niece Megan. 

She's wearing a little polka dot gown that I bought in Paris for my niece who is now 6 years old. 

When time flies, at least I have Parisian memories to keep me warm. 

We shot this in about 10 minutes on one roll of Ilford 3200 on my Contax RX (35mm). I like to keep my shoots short and sweet and I like to hit most of the shots. With kids, that's easy. They're flawless and way less self conscious than we are as adults.

That last shot--with her dress flying, her hair flowing, and her hand leaving her mother's shoulder when she's lifted into the air--yeah, that one is my favorite.

Best of 2012

 How can I express the beauty that was 2012?! I feel as if I grew so much as an artist, a photographer, a woman, a mother, a sister, a friend, and a part of humanity. I know without a doubt that the people who let me point a camera at them this year are part of me. That they shared some part of the depths of themselves with me and that those things change a person. Thank you to each of you who trusted me with your most special of days and your huge life events. It means the world to me to be able to do what I am passionate about. I have a good feeling about you, 2013
